The public beta of iOS 26 was made available on Thursday, July 24. Although the next version of Apple’s iPhone operating system will be formally launched later this year, eager early adopters may test it out now.
The most recent on-device Apple Intelligence features (real-time translation and a more intelligent Visual Intelligence search), a new translucent “Liquid Glass” appearance, and text and phone enhancements including integrated call screening and in-chat polling are all included in iOS 26.
Regretfully, not everyone will get the opportunity to try the new software. Some older devices will be left behind since iOS 26 needs at least Apple’s A13 Bionic processor. Are you unsure about the position of your phone? Before attempting to download iOS 26, review the whole compatibility list below.
Be aware that not everyone is a fan of Apple Intelligence.
Although iOS 26 may be installed on any of the aforementioned devices, Apple Intelligence need more robust hardware. Features like the new Visual Intelligence search, Image Playground, and Genmoji only function on:
Models of the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and 16
You will still get daily updates and all design changes if you’re using an earlier device, but nothing incorporating Apple Intelligence.
Are you unsure about which iPhone you have?
Navigate to Settings > General > About on your iPhone, then choose Model Name. You won’t be able to use any of iOS 26’s new features if your phone isn’t on the compatibility list, but it will continue to get iOS 25 security fixes for some time.
