Not yet upgraded to the PS5? How to Share Games on the PS4

Do you wish to join your pals with a PS5 but your PS4 is still functional? Share Play is a function that allows you to accomplish this. It lets you share your game collection with friends and family or play games together. You can use Share Play to play your friend’s PS5 games on your PS4 if they have one. Please be aware that both of you must have a PlayStation Plus membership in order to use the Share Play function.

How to distribute games on the PlayStation 4

Game share is a feature that has been around for a while and functions similarly to lending someone a physical disk. This implies that you may effectively give someone your game digitally, but you are unable to play simultaneously. (And no, sharing games on the PS4 is not prohibited.) A PlayStation Plus membership is required for both players. Here’s how:

1. On a friend’s PS4 device, sign into your PlayStation account.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select Account Management.

4. Choose “Activate as Your Primary PS4” and make sure it’s the right option. Don’t worry, you can restart your PS4 console even if you need to disable it.

All of player one’s games will now be visible to player two in their library and may be downloaded to the PS4’s hard drive.

Visit Playstation to see the PlayStation Plus subscription.

How to Use the PS4 to Share Play

To use the Share Play function with a buddy, follow these steps:

1. Choose the buddy you want to create a party with from your list of friends or search for them on the Invite Players page. Select Send Invitation after reading the instructions.

2. Start the desired game by loading it.

3. On your DualShock 4 controller, press the share button.

4. On your TV screen, choose Share Play.

5. From your list, choose the buddy you want to share your game with. Your gaming systems will connect and the 60-minute session will begin once they accept your invitation. You may start a new session right away and continue where you left off once the current one ends.

Five issues are now playing. PS5 still needs to be fixed.

If both of you are using microphones, the person you are sharing your game with will be able to view your screen and speak to you. You may allow your buddy to play the game once you’ve finished your session together. Here’s how:

1. Press the controller’s share button.

2. On the TV, choose Go to Party for Share Play.

3. Choose to Give the Visitor the Controller.

4. If your game has a multiplayer mode, you can then select either Play a Game Together or Let the Visitor Play as You. To achieve this, the host must have a PlayStation Plus membership, but the guest does not. Both players must be PlayStation Plus subscribers in order to play cooperatively, but in both situations, only the host needs a copy of the game.

Press the share button on your controller once more, choose Go to Party for Share Play, and then select Take back Controller to return to basic screen sharing. You will also follow this route to stop sharing.
